I think it's a good marketing move. The guy or gal who buys the scanner
will be shooting Kodak film, and he'll become rather proficient at
scanning that particular film stock. (Those who have done a lot of
scanning know that with time and practice you develop a technique for a
particular film, and your results improve tremendously.) That means that
down the road they'll continue selling film to this customer.
