Pretty much all of the sites, including the doom and gloom forum say that. However, i have found my Pentax jpegs to be more than fine. My istD and 16-45 F4 had issues with softer jpeg's, but all in all, i like what i get from my istD and K10D. My D200 jpegs are another story. Much better when shot as NEF's.
