Denny, >MZ 5n or MZ3. >I want to use my K lenses with these bodies. I know that I cannot use the autofocus >which I consider not an issue.
I use an MZ-3. Although autofocus will not work with manual focus lenses, the 'in focus' diamond appears in the viewfinder when the lens is in focus. I find that this is a little 'iffy' but does sometimes help with ageing eyes. >However I do not know if I will be able to use all the functions of the lightmeter of the >MZ body with the K lenses. Is the MZ's 6 segment evaluative metering used on >manual or auto, will I be able to use this part of the MZ metering with K lenses? Metering will revert to centre weighted with M lenses but you may also switch to spot metering - the multi-segment metering is not available. With A lenses, all metering modes are available.
