When I shoot shows at the local Fair, cattle show, horses, etc. I do exactly what you do...full power on my 285 w/ 28 filer in for a little diffusion. I'm afraid if I use a bounce or any more diffusion that it won't have the reach. I hate not getting the shot. I should probably try it out sometime though. Would make for better light. Good idea....
