i don't know if Pentax even understood the target demographic, they seem to have been chasing trends and taking gambles that a demographic might develop around "design-forward" ILCs or miniature ILCs (K-01 and Q respectively); it didn't pay off — there were a lot of competing efforts and µ43 and Fuji seem to have mostly found the sweet spot, at least over the time period the K-01 could have had its impact
