Standard plug -- now it is playing a CD ...

I really like this critter - it has a nice sound... also struck by how much itlooks a bit like Jostein's horse fly

When you say the power supply is an outlet in your wall, do you mean it's a standard two or three prong plug or a "wall wort" like this?

If it's a "wall wort", that may be your problem and it could be replaced at an electronics store like Radio Shack.

(Is Radio Shack still in business?) :-[:-[

Yes, the same thing happened, in effect - with the tape and cd player... it wouldnt come on ... and actually the cd player suddenly started playing when I just left the cd I had in it sit.. and the tape player worked and then didn't...

I'm dumb about these things...

This is what it does now. I turn on the radio and get silence...
thinking I turned it off a walk away and quite a while later the radio
comes on.
...snip....
anyone know what is going on here? I remember years ago things needed to
warm up before playing... but it didn't take 30 minutes.
Probably a dodgy voltage regulator in the power supply. Does the CD
player or cassette part of this thing show the same symptoms?
