Nope. I was referring to the power supply internal to the boom box: Transformer, rectifier diodes, capacitors and several voltage regulators. >Yes, the same thing happened, in effect - with the tape and cd player... >it wouldnt come on ... and actually the cd player suddenly started playing >when I just left the cd I had in it sit.. and the tape player worked >and then didn't... So everything stays lit up and the tape or CD keeps moving physically but no sound comes out? It does sound like a bad voltage regulator. This is typically a linear regulator in these kinds of devices, a 3-pin integrated circuit device. It could even be just a bad solder joint which makes a connection only after it's reached a certain temperature. Hard to say without opening it up and having a look around inside. -- Mark Roberts - Photography & Multimedia www.robertstech.com -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
