I don't think this is correct. The Pentax MF line has mostly been left alone. The 67 
lasted over 30 years before being updated. The 645 14 years. All the updates are 
"chep" technology destilled from the 35mm slr line. For the 645n it even included the 
circuitry design lifted wholesale from the MZ-5. In fact, the 645N and NII are just 
MZ-5n on steroides. Without the 35mm development there would have been no Pentax MF 
cameras. In overturn, the MF line is of almost zero importance as it is only a 
fraction of the 35mm slr sales.
