My MZ-S is pickier about loading than my ZX-5 was. With the ZX-5, I could pretty much get the leader anywhere near the takeup spool clamp (that little lever that hangs over the spool from the right side) and it would load ... the MZ-5 requires that I put a couple of centimeters of leader under the clamp before it will "grab".
