Thanks Harry,

I get it.

I just wasn't complete in expressing my thought...

I meant 'try importing the PCB file', as I did read that the schematic file
does not directly convert.

I just grabbed the .s01 file and opened it with notepad to show what version
of the program it was created with... Now I realize that there really isn't
a correlation between the PCB program and the Schematic program like in the
newer Protel versions because the two programs evolved separately. So
establishing the version that way was pointless.

It may be quicker to just 'bite the bullet' and redo the schematic in
Protel. I realize the netlist will probably import into Protel PCB without
any trouble... the netlist formats look identical.

Thanks,

Bill,

I think you misunderstood what everyone has been saying. You can't import
the Tango schematic with any Protel tool. You can import the PCB with
Protel 2.8, then save it in ASCII format and import it into any of the
newer Protel versions. You can directly import the Tango netlist into any
newer Protel version without pre-processing.

Been there... tried all of that.

Regards - Harry
