Batteries are exempted: http://www.dti.gov.uk/sustainability/weee/RoHS_Regs_Draft_Guidance.pdf I think I read somewhere about the BGAs in regards to the soldering problems but I'm not sure if all are exempted. I'll post it if I find it.
