Hi group,
I believe everybody has different opinion and
expectations about AD6 and it's future development.
I'm not part of the Beta team but I've been an
Altium's Beta tester for some time and I can tell that
there is a lot of criticism going on and people are
not always as polite as expected.
This is understandable. You've spent much money to buy
the software and expect it to work the way it was
advertised but it doesn't and you feel like you need
to express yourself in a negative way rejecting
everything, which was done.
I presume you won't feel good if someone is
criticising your board design pointing you only the
bad things you've done and not even paying attention
to the good part of your work. I haven't seen a single
person who would stand a criticism as long as Altium
team while developing their new product.
Yes, they need a financial support and that's why they
push you hard to buy AD.
Yes, they need your feedback if they are on the right
track but they do it for you.
They develop a product to meet your needs and work the
way you'd like it.
They keep changing their license policy to make it
more convenient for you.
There are no two persons on the world who would like
things the same way. It's hard to please each one of
you.
I've been following Protel's development for years and
although there are things I still don't like, I think
Altium is doing quite good job and sometimes you can
say a few nice words about their work.
Yes, there will be problems and probably more bugs but
they don't know how you are using the software. It's
up to you to help them and get more reliable tool.
I think it's time to think about meeting the New Year
and be optimists.
Happy New Year!
I've got a question - Does anyone use a PC with 64-bit
processor and AD running on it?
Mira
