Darren,
Your points are perfectly valid but I said my piece just because of the
number of "significant" issues I have seen coming up just recently.
A month or more ago my feelings were better than they are right now. I
don't bother remembering all the specifics and I do watch for the uninitiated
users stuff, I don't count it. But I do track the general gist of the issues
and take more note of the significant show stoppers we would experience. It is
also telling that they still do not have proper testing of the software
regardless of how long they beta it. The ODB++ internal pads shouldn't have
gotten past Alpha testing let alone any further tests, I mean c'mon.
The web update is a bit of a mystery to me, I see guys asking about
issues supposedly resolved/"fixed" weeks ago, and still no update. So how fast
is it? Especially when compared to some other EDA vendors that will get hot
fixes to users within days (maybe even hours) if it is a significant problem
and they have/find a fix.

Hi Brad,
yep, there are issues, none have been a major issues for me
and most have workarounds. There are issues with SP4 also, and
maybe just as many but like I said, AD6 is not a huge step
maybe not much different then from SP3 to SP4. Many fixes,
many new features and yes some bugs/issues too.
I guess I accept that there will always be problems, as most
EDA software has them, but at least Altium have made steps to
improve the time to get them fixed with the web update.
Also a lot of the traffic on the Altium list is just users that
have yet to learn how to drive the software, there is a lot to
learn these days.
Regards,
Darren
