No, I am talking about AD, AD6 to be specific. The "graphics spilling
over in large fonts" bug is still there from the Protel 2.x days. It is
a rookie programmer mistake. It was not a big deal in 99SE where all
the critical text is in dialog boxes (double click on a pad or a track
for example, and all the changeable data is dialogs which are not
affected). In DXP onwards, this data is displayed as standard text on
the background and when things spill over, you can not read what is
written because useful data is being clipped or overwritten.

This does not happen if you are using "standard" size font. But if you
are using a high resolution display, anything bigger than about 1280 x
1024, you have to go with a larger font (I use dual 2048 x 1600
displays). Altium has obviously not tested the software in that screen
size, even though they have been aware of the bug and its implications
-- I know because I have personally reported it to them in every release
(asked about it for AD6 and was told it was there). Their solution to
me was "you do not need such a big display"

If that is so, then I wonder, with supposedly such great support from
Altium for the current products on their own forums (actual engineers to
the company president monitoring and responding) what are these people
doing on an outside 99SE forum seeking Altium support? Are they
stupid? Ignorant? Or not really using AD? Something just does not add
up.

Regards,

Hamid
