Hi, Thanks for the suggestions. Can't find what I'm looking for in the archives but I'm also not sure what to search on. Sure is interesting reading though..
On the second suggestion. I'm happy with just laying out copper where the surface mount pads are and connecting that to the through holes. But, When I try this by just laying a trace on the through hole and extending it out past the hole, I get an instant DRC error when I update the PCB. That's because the net for the trace isn't updated and, the trace on the PCB can't be selected individually so access to its NET isn't possible.
