Another way of looking at it is this: if certain political actors in Benghazi want to throw in their lot with Western imperialism, no-one can prevent them from doing so. But if you are someone in the West fighting Western imperialism, then this is a decision you are going to take into account when considering them; just as they have the right to throw in with Western imperialism, you have the right not to throw in with people who are allying with your principal adversary.
