so many neologisms ("DumPos," etc.) makes this a bit incoherent.
But the Civil Rights movement pushed the DP to the left, not that the
DP establishment wanted it that way. Same thing with the anti-war
movement of the 1960s/early 1970s and the labor movement of the 1930s.
