I am not *focusing* on one politician's personality. You seem to think
that individuals and personalities do not matter, but I do not agree
with that.

My own opinion is that it is definitely possible to co-opt the DP for
progressive purposes similar to the New Deal, but that requires first
throwing the bums out beginning with Obama.

The model for how such a co-optation could work is the Tea Party
takeover of the Republican Party after 2008.
