Yes, I did that to reduce the annoyance factor
during the transitional period.  The only downside
for pdl2 is that it is based on Devel::REPL which
depends on Moose stuff with its large number of
dependencies.

However, I have yet to hear of someone who has not been
able to install the Devel::REPL + Moose stuff if desired.

My hope is to use PAR packer to generate some
"binary" installs for the Devel::REPL stuff to simplify
startup for PDL users.  As usual, that is in the
queue with a lot of other PDL+POGL work...
