Since mixing ximian broke RH 7.3 also, I will try to upgrade to later

The original problem showed up when I tried to burn discs for phoebe1. They
failed to work o my laptop. After talking with people on our local columbus

I didn't try burning CD's with Phoebe1, but with the two later betas, the problem has been consistent. It's *not* the poster's hardware that is at
fault.

He can save himself a lot of headaches and wasted time by looking at
Bug # 84160 "I/O error while burning an .iso file with kernel >=2.4.20..."
Actually, it's not just a problem burning just ISO files but *any* data files
at *any* speed.

Kindly add comments to the bug report, if applicable. You're not alone
with this particularly stubborn and nasty bug. (Even erasing CDRW's
and writing audio CD's is a lottery!)

Since it happened after I upgraded to RH8. I assume it is either differences in the way that iso files systems are dealt with, after the upgrade.

I blew out my RH7.3 system when I tried to uninstall ximian through the use of the red-carpet updater. It will give me the chance to select programs related to xcdroast, gnometoaster, cdrecord and the like.

Ximian has gotten messed up since I last used the system.

Anyway, regarding the good CDR burns. I plan on trying something out to see if I can figure out the differences between the CDR burned on RH7.3 and the CDR burned on phoebe.

I added a comment to the bug report. I hope that it was a forward leading comment.
