I was using planner only on my office machine, either directly or via
ssh/putty from other machines. It worked well, till several accidents
happened: a few times of power off, some guy unplugged the LAN cable
from my office linux box at night for temporarily using his notebook
(``I thought no one was using the computer'') , and so on.

I am now using cvs, which is quite simple and much more reliable.
However, good habit is required, i.e., checking in before open the
planner, and checking out after exit. Flash drives also work in this
scenario. Without a version control system, I will get confused during
synchronization.

Hope this will help.
