Well, I had that issues too. Just thinking about how much time I spend
on such "how to keep things in sync and up-to-date" gives me headache.

I ended up using quite a powerful notebook (17") which I use at home as
well as at the office. Even that it is big, nowadays such things are
quite light and thus easy to carry (backpack). 

I know, that is a bit offtopic but then it is my story and I can say it
is a lot better than wasting time on "how to sync" subjects ... I am
already to old for such things :)
