Hi Phil:

If it is any consolation, my comprehensive testing and other
pre-release items I have to do are in similar shape.  Also, note that
once Jim's new plmeta/plrender is text-simplified along the lines I
discussed with him, it should be a great tool for helping to find the
remaining plbuf issues which should simplify your life.

So for now, the release date target is still quite uncertain, i.e.,
next weekend at the earliest.  However, let's review that again near
the end of this week to see where we stand.
