Thanks to Phil's efforts it now works for me so I think we are likely done here unless Phil proves the one OLD_WXWIDGETS issue he found on his system (which I did not find on mine) is a regression from PLplot-5.10.0 In sum, 1 and 3 are no longer relevant, I am still working on 2, and deep freeze continues.
