I see.. Mine's similar to that of Orlando although in my conf.modules, it
comes with another option mpuirq=9. I wonder why the mic isnt working. In
KDE's audio mixer, the microphone volume slider is shaded red (obviously
because it isnt working). Needless to say, it works perfect with Windows. I
know it can work perfectly in linux too (it did on yours).. On my part, just
a little more plug and pray perhaps :)

My config:
insmod cs4232 io=530 dma1=0 dma2=0 irq=5
when my external FDD is plugged in and
insmod cs4232 io=530 dma1=1 dma2=3 irq=5
when ext FDD is not plugged in.
