Arguably the same could be said of Ruby, Perl, Python or any of a myriad of
languages and frameworks.  Maintanability is key but that's what proper
design, comments and documentation are for.

Case in point.  Ever had code you wrote a couple of months ago, you went
back and looked at and now you have no clue anymore how or why it works?
