Your methodolgy makes perfect sense but only if you are preared to have compromises in a different area to the ones I have - but as you say this element of the discussion needs to move to "tagging". Separately Craig has now confirmed something in the code logic which means I can raise with Michael. Please be assured that when I do raise it I will state that any change needs to account for both our use cases! I will just answer this PasTim wrote: > Why aren't Eric and JJ separate Track Artists on Album 1 as well?. Because it isn't necessary to achieve the desired indexing (or display) and is therefore superfluous. In a perfect world we would have separate display tags and indexing tags. What we have is a workaround where the multi value capability of certain tags and the database structure is sort of mis-used (from a programming perspective). Material just happens to use a JSON call for AlbumArtist at browse level that returns only value 1. But unless you have noticed that, you wouldn't know that you can manipulate your album list display accordingly and it certainly isn't documented anywhere but as I mentioned above it was one of the first things I noticed when Craig started the (fabulous) development of Material. One BIG problem for those of us with OCD in this area is that if we want to use Online Music Library integration all the work we put into tagging our libraries can be instantly shot to pieces by incorrect tags at Spotify, Qobuz, Tidal, Deezer etc VB2.4 STORAGE *QNAP TS419P (NFS) Living Room* Joggler & Pi4/Khadas -> Onkyo TXNR686 -> Celestion F20s *Office* Joggler & Pi3 -> Denon RCD N8 -> Celestion F10s *Dining Room* SB Boom *Kitchen* UE Radio (upgraded to SB Radio) *Bedroom (Bedside)* Pi Zero+DAC ->ToppingTP21 ->AKG Headphones *Bedroom (TV) & Bathroom* SB Touch ->Denon AVR ->Mordaunt Short M10s + Kef ceiling speakers *Guest Room* Joggler > Topping Amp -> Wharfedale Modus Cubes Everything controlled by iPeng & Material on iOS ------------------------------------------------------------------------ d6jg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=44051 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109624 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
