Good news, David! First of all, we finally got a reply from the Quick
Select command, and you'll never guess what the response time was....
2.06 seconds! That's right. Your AVR was missing the timeout limit by
.06 seconds. Based on this, I will increase the timeout value for the
Quick Select from 2 seconds, probably to 5 seconds just to be safe.
Prior to version 3.0, it was 1 second. There is really no downside to
increasing it, as it will have no effect on users who get faster
response time. It's just more forgiving for those with slower networks.

I need a little more information from you to investigate your perception
that the initial volume was louder than before. The zone 2 volume
reported in response to the Quick Select was 65dB, which should
correspond to the volume setting that you specified in your Zone 2 Quick
Select 3 definition. Can you verify that? If it is not 65dB, what is it,
and what, if any, value have you set up for the initial power on volume
of Zone 2?

Overall, things are looking very good. In addition to adding the Quick
Select support, zone processing is now more robust and predictable than
in the past. I'm so pleased with the results that I'm thinking about
adding a second zone to my system! ;-)

As always, thanks for your help.
