Thanks for the detailed instructions, Olivier. I'm sure it will be helpful to others in the same situation, although I would probably have just chosen the easy way out with the '-u' command line option for ser2net. ;)
Speaking of smiley faces, you might want to edit your post with smileys disabled so that the ip and port example doesn't show up as a tongue sticking out smiley, i.e. ip:port (or just use caps, i.e. IP:Port). The patch to Plugin.pm will indeed be included in the next release.
