 But anyway... You can download the last 32 bit helper from 
https://github.com/michaelherger/Spotty-Plugin/raw/e2a9c2c33e68368a78abae8dceb4c40918dbd238/Bin/MSWin32-x86-multi-thread/spotty.exe,

store it as "spotty-custom.exe" somewhere in your search path (see
Settings/Information).

Thanks! I've done that, and stored it in "C:\Documents and Settings\All
Users\Application
Data\Squeezebox\Cache\InstalledPlugins\Plugins\Spotty\Bin\MSWin32-x86-multi-thread"
where the previous spotty.exe was (renamed it) - This is from "Helper
Applications Folder" in Settings/Information. Unfortunately, nothing seems
to have changed... should I be putting it in an alternate location?
