It's not about others, it's about himself remembering what he thinks about the music. Usually, the main motivation is to use it with automatic playlist creation where you want to skip music that sucks. But I never actually understood why you need more than a three stage "sucks, it's OK, I love it" ranking, let-alone a 10-stage granularity but hey, that's just me. I do use TrackStat but I never use anything else than three or five stars. Actually I'm even thinking about completely replacing the logic with one only using "love" and "ban" from Last.fm and importing that back.
