If the newly appointed Secretary of Home Land Security Chertoff hadn't
sold more power hungry lies of a terrorist threat after Katrina to
block any assistance from occurring, it assuredly would have had
different results. That's assuming Bush Jr. or Cheney wouldn't have
blocked relief instead of Chertoff. But what was apparent was that
Bush Jr. didn't know or really care what was going on other than the
$1000. debt cards issued weeks after most of the looting had already
taken place. And this just to make him look compassionate for
political reasons.

Of that, there's practically no doubt that Bush Jr. and company sold
their beliefs as facts.

Not only that, but what Bush Jr. sold the American people during a
SOTU address was that Iraq had nuclear weapons grade material and was
just months away from striking the US.

If intelligence gathering was that bad, which apparently it was, why
in the world would he then authorize intelligence to gather
information on captured suspects?
One can only conclude the whole thing is not only based on lies, but
that the American people can't be trusted with any truths. So that
those Americans who *think* they know what the truth is, can't
possibly know, they can only assume because the same children who need
to be insulated from any truths.

A wink is as good as a nod to a blind bat.
