Julia made a face at Alex before commenting "How was I supposed to know that
funky French chef would have put snails in the spaghetti? It was the reason
she couldn't eat mushrooms. Snails and mushrooms looked too darned alike.
She made a face.
"And peanut butter and banana tastes good."
"Snails?" Rachel whispered, making a face herself and sticking with her
sandwich "And you ate it?"
Julia looked sheepish "I didn't want to hurt the chef's feelings... and I
thought they were just weird mushrooms..."
"Teach you to learn French," Alex told her with a grin. She'd actually
known all along what was in that dish. Although, she figured everyone knew
what escargots was and she had been nagging Julia about learning at least a
little French. Then of course there was the element of fun in seeing
Julia's expression when she realized what she was eating.
