Rachel looked at Kat and shrugged with a half grin "Sounds good to me."
Then she turned to the baker "Where's the nearest payphone?"
She was trying to not push Kat but she was worried about how her daughter
was acting... especially with the need to leave Angel Island when it was
obvious she had been having fun with not only Nick but with Julia as well.
She couldn't help but think that it had something to do with what had upset
Kat earlier.
The baker pointed to the small corridor to the right of them and Rachel
nodded, giving her the delivery information and paying the amount the baker
gave her for the cakes. She then pointed a thumb at the nearby tables and
chairs for Kat "Want to take a seat while I call Alex? I'll just be a
second."
"Okay, don't forget to ask her to bring Tuffy," Kat replied and started
towards the chairs then she stopped and went back to the counter. "Can you
make sure the snails are cute and not icky," she added, "and can you make
them while we're getting groceries cause we kind of need them right away."
The woman smiled, "yes on both counts. We're not to busy today and I have
cupcakes already made that I can decorate for you."
"Thanks," Kat said relieved and then she hurried over to the two chairs
lined up against the wall and began to count the different kinds of cake in
the cases.
Back at the Legacy House Alex was trying to convince Julia that everything
really was going to be all right. She was beginning to wish she had a psych
degreee of her own. Or that Derek might come back. He was generally
persausive.
