The Guardian of Trapped Souls was sitting in his chambers when the call came through; A telepathic message from the prince of darkness informing him of the imbalance in hell's numbers.  It took longer this time, thanks to the cover up that the Soul Chaser orchestrated, for Satan to notice that Jimmy was missing.  He hoped, For Jimmy's sake, that the poor soul had used the delay to get a good enough head start.  Once the Soul Chaser was on the trail, he would hunt him like he would any other
escaped soul, guilty or not.

Rising from the chair, he strapped on the leather belt on which Cheron's Blade was sheathed.  After pausing to say a silent prayer to his own higher power,  the Soul Chaser vanished into the realm of the living.

He had waited a long time for this and his eyes followed his nemesis with each movement made.  For years, for centuries almost, he had been trapped here with the others and had bided his time.

Why?

Because he always acted and moved to win.

And he finally saw his chance to win an escape out of this - quite literal - hell hole.

The Soulchaser was almost there... to the point where he would phase into the mortal realm.... all he had to do was wait until...........

NOW!

With an outraged howl like none heard before, even from the bowels of hell, The Hunter - mortally known as Jean Paul Vut - charged his foe and struck with all his might, laughing with cold dark glee as the Soulchaser was knocked unconscious at the threshold.

He hesitated only a moment, spotting the Cheron's Blade and then, lips curling upwards in nothing but a cold hateful smile, he bent to take it.

Hell had just lost two souls and the Blade -- and The Hunter was in the mood for some payback on the world that had sent him to the place that had spent all that time torturing him.

"All hell's about to break loose." He chuckled in his gravelly, cool tone of voice, looking at the Blade and debating who he would stab first to give a taste of pure hell to.

The Blade, any good murder or sadistic resident in hell knew, could send a person straight down, no passing Go no collecting the death insurance payment, hell to be trapped and experiencing all the pain, humiliation and torture each one of them were put through on a daily basis.

The Soulchaser lay still where Kane had left him, unaware that more than just Jimmy Boyle had just found his mortal way out.
