Soulchaser stalked around the grounds of the legacy house in a disoriented
state, ready to pounce on anything that came near. The memories of the
past night’s events had not yet fully returned to him, only bits and
pieces. He knew that a dangerous soul had escaped, he knew that he’d
been wounded, and he knew that he had to protect a member of this household
at all cost. So he walked back and forth, keeping watch as he had since he
came to. Waiting for something; waiting for anything.

By now, it was morning and the heavy fog that had set in over the island
created an ominous atmosphere about the house. Soulchaser could feel those
who lived in the house just beginning to wake up. A few of their auras
seemed familiar, and he knew that he had been here before. The familiar
presence of Nick Boyle, the only mortal who had ever given him a hard time
(though he would never admit it to his face), confirmed the fact. He was
guarding the Legacy house.

Suddenly, The Soulchaser’s eyes flashed red as his senses detected
the unmistakeable presence of an escaped soul. Jimmy Boyle was on the
island. Was he the dangerous one that wounded him? Was that why he was
roaming the grounds of the Legacy house? Had he not been on a hair
trigger, The Chaser might have asked himself those questions. However,
within a second of feeling Jimmy’s soul, he took off on a dead
sprint.

Coming to the fence near the house’s entrance, The Soulchaser saw
Jimmy running into a door. Trying to turn into his spiritual form, he was
annoyed to discover that he was stuck as he was. Grabbing the chain link
fence with his hands, he ripped a hole through it as if it was made of
paper. In no time at all he had arrived at the door, and with a mighty
swing of his boot, nearly knocked it off his hinges. He entered the house.
With his prey now in his grasp, The Gardian of trapped souls advanced
toward the stairwell.
