Last I looked the package is > reasonably well thought out. Viktor, I've used MiaB for several years. I ran a Windows-based server (MDaemon) for two decades previously, but I wanted to save annual licensing fees after I retired. :) A couple of considerations. The setup script requires a clean Ubuntu 22.04 baseline (maintainers state the upcoming version will use Ubuntu 26.X). Others report using the MiaB host for other functions, including sharing nginx with hosted pages, but I haven't pursued that given I can easily create another VM. It lacks true mail list support, and the team didn't seem interested in incorporating it (understandable, given how that could be abused), so Mailman or something else will be required for that function. My needs (small list of members, no automated sub/unsub, etc.) were satisfied by using the "alias" function in the web GUI and populating both local and remote recipient addresses within the alias. Beyond those limitations, it's a wonderful and thorough integration of mail apps and related tools, including Contacts and Calendar services that might be necessary in a larger environment. It dynamically manages an integrated Bind (named) server, creating and updating all required records, as necessary. I've run a separate host for DNS for many years and didn't want to change that, and the GUI dynamically generates and permits downloading the entire zone file or individual records (DKIM, DMARC, autoconfig records for MUA, etc.), as needed. It works perfectly with certbot to create and manage required SSL/TLS certificates for mail functions, including Dovecot/LMTP certs, postfix, nginx, etc. My cert has 40 total SANs for domains and hosts, and it's updated automatically through a certbot script... entirely hands-off. It generates a new request when you add a new domain through the GUI. The mail GUI is Roundcube, which I suspect many already use for client access. If there are any specific questions someone has, I'd be happy to share. And, of course, none of MiaB would be possible without postfix at its core!
