I've read numerous references to MIMEDefang, including yours of course.
Never used it personally, yet, but iiuc, it's been around a long while.
Is there any particular significance to the complete lack of its mention on:

which _seems_ to list 'everything else' out there ... or, for that matter,
anywhere else on the site.
