Oh, an electrical noise? Like when a Powerbook is started up and the sound
has been muted?

My 5300 does the same thing whenever it is plugged in. A little "pop" sound, as if it had no power at all in awhile.... but other than that it works fine.

With much respect and appreciation, Ivy, I don't think you understand the problem. I hear the slight noise only when the LED is lit - no HD, not a power-up noise, etc. I really appreciate your help, but it's kinda *not* helping, if you know what I mean.

I've isolated where the noise is coming from, and was just asking if it was o.k. if it continued to make this noise.

Keep suggestions coming though! Something could be the answer... :-)

The light is an LED and the when they make a sound, they only do it once (when they blow up - personal experience).

I hope this isn't what's happening - one more thing to add to the list to fix :-P (PRAM battery, PRAM battery cable, RAM card, etc.)

Thanks for your help, both of you. :-)
