Yes. 3) Are RadWorkers allowed to use the SAM when exiting the RRA for personal items? Yes - What items are considered personal? Gloves, note books, radio, etc. Personal items used in a contaminated area must be surveyed by HP. No tools or equipment. 4) Does you site allow personal gloves to be monitored in and out of RRA? Yes. - Who performs the monitoring? Radiation workers 5) What restrictions do you place on routine/standard tools entering and exiting the RRA? No hand tools in/out. Worker’s must use RCA tools for work in the RCA. Specialty tools (test gauges, etc) must be approved by the HP Supervisor. - Is this delineated in your procedures? Yes. 6) Are RP Techs responding to PCM or SAM alarms required to wear rubber gloves? No, our procedures direct the technicians to remove the contaminated article from monitor using appropriate controls to prevent the possible spread of contamination.
