1) Does your site have an empty pockets policy for entering the RRA? No,
however the expectation that nothing goes into the RCA that is not needed.
2) Does your site have an empty pockets policy for exiting the RRA? Yes
3) Are RadWorkers allowed to use the SAM when exiting the RRA for personal
items? Yes
- What items are considered personal? From out procedure, “Trained
Radiation Workers may unconditionally release personal items such as notebooks,
clipboards, gloves, contents of pockets and non-tool items on belt.”
4) Does you site allow personal gloves to be monitored in and out of RRA?
Yes, they are considered personal.
- Who performs the monitoring? Radworker
5) What restrictions do you place on routine/standard tools entering and
exiting the RRA? No tools available in the Hot Tool Crib are allowed into
the RCA. Other tools, such as M&TE must have HP Supervision approval for use in
the RCA.
- Is this delineated in your procedures? Yes
6) Are RP Techs responding to PCM or SAM alarms required to wear rubber
gloves? No
