HNP, Does your station survey all tools returned to the RCA tool room / tool crib for contamination? Yes
IF so... Does your station use a tool monitor / SAM as part of the survey process? Yes IF so... What set point is used for the tool monitor / SAM? 10K Are surveys performed by RP Technicians or tool room craft? All surveys performed by RP's IF RP Technicians... Is this task routinely assigned or by request? We have installed 2 large cabinets for material that needs surveillance to be put in. Routinely RP techs will check cabinets and perform survey prior to tools being put back into tool room. We just started doing this; we were not aligned with the industry. Prior to this we allowed personnel to SAM tools prior to placing back in tool room if they did not alarm SAM. Are unsurveyed tools ever available for craft use or segregated until surveyed? NO, after the above was identified the tool room was locked and controlled by RP until we performed 100% surveillance of tool room and communicated to the site the new expectations.
