Hmm - the OP reported that memtest86 wasn't showing problems - I think that hits only one processor but in my experience actually drives the CPU hotter than mprime does. In any case an overheating CPU should start triggering errors from mprime (excess rounding errors etc) well before it gets to the point of spontaneously rebooting.
