Hello all,

I wonder if anyone can advise me on whether the following scenario is
something I should have expected in this situation:

I have submitted a CMYK file (from a digital shot, converted to US Swop
coated V2 as per their instructions) to a company for printing on a 2500
postcard run (4" x 6", not a very big print run). The company sent the
postcards today, and they vary in colour. Some are just right with a
neutral grey background as per the file, some have a distinct magenta cast
and some are neutral but darker. I have not used this company before and
the quality of the card itself is excellent, apart from this. I see this
as a major problem. If it were my print run I would not be happy. But I
have no experience with offset printing. Is this perhaps the best that can
be hoped for?

I would appreciate any input. I don't see the fault as my own, as the
colour is correct on two of the three, with one density correct. I have a
cooling-off period as they will not be open to hear my comments until
Monday, but I would like to know what would be reasonable to expect.

Best regards to all,

Ellie
