I want to gift someone in darkest africa with a scanner with 35mm transparency scanning capablitity as well as flat bed.
They have a large body of old family kodachromes which are succumbing to mould in many cases after 50+ rainy seasons. The images are in general not of pro or serious historic value but they are worth preserving. I am out of touch as to what there is out there in the approx $200 US range which produces value for money at the mo. I have seen excellent quality out of epson scanners at approx twice that price - quality that is not required in this case.
