Why not just:

1. Select good upright bevel
2. Apple-J to 'float' it on a new layer
3. Either Apple-T to transorm, which gives you the opportunity to 'drag'
rotate it or:
4. Apple-T to transform, then enter rotation amounts in the boxes in the
menu bar.
