Yes, that's exactly the process, although it's a little different on the Control|24 since there are dedicated insert buttons on each channel, thus eliminating the final step in your scenario. In the case of the Control|24, it's more like: 1. Press Insert on desired track 2. Press specific insert slot (that is, a, b, c, etc.). The encoders now display that insert's parameters.
