Earlyer I couldn't remember the firewire chips to look out for. As I
said the drives with USB and firewire is not nececeraly the best
quality, except if you make sure that the external drive has a oxford
bridge firewire chip. The drives with these oxford chips are usually a
bit more expensive but it is highly recommended to get one of them
especially if you will use a drive for recording where it constantly
streems data back and forth. A firewire only drive with oxford chips
or a firewire and USB combo with oxford chips would work fine, most
manufacturers would state that their external drive has oxford chips,
it would be stupid if they don't state it, because it's a sign of
quality. Another option if you can't find the right external drive
then make one up yourself or ask someone to help you. Buy a bair 1 TB
or 2 TB 7200 RPM SATA drive and a firewire drive enclosure obviously
with oxford chips, then incert the drive yourself.
