to avoid problems with the music industry, the PTR1 distinguishes
between data and audio CDs, like standalone hifi CD recorders do. If you
want to record a music CD, you have to buy audio CDs for hifi CD
recorders. However, you can record in 44.1 khz PCM on data CDs. The PTR1
then records in Daisy format, so that the CD isn't playable on a hifi CD
player, but the sound quality is as good as on a music CD.
