Again,
It should be clear that I am not an expert on this matter , i do not have any special expertise .
Just one think , I have as my "hobby" to play with QL and its derivatives.
I bought a QL in '84, then I bought everything related to it : eg GoldCard, QXl etc etc . I have all the emulator etc, etc.
Saying that, one of my last "passion" is Q60, I have just renewed it to show the Q60 at the next italian meeting: now it is equipped with wireless desktop, 2 HD (60 GB) and a CF reader and the ethernet, plus smsq/e, Qdos Classic , Shoestring and UQLX under Linux !
What I simply would like to see to happen is improving the situation maybe with new hardware and new software (SMSQ/E or Qdos Classic does not matter).
One of the best software "GURU" we have in smsq/e told me in a private mail that a lot of small improvement could be done in smsq/e for Q60 using 32 bit instructions and special 060 addressing mode.
So what , nothing happen, again is a pity (my point of view).
I do not know who is right or not , I am a simple user that would like something happen.
I STRONGLY agree with Marcel when he say that he want to be paid for his work, and I am available to pay for his job when this will be worth.
I agree also with the people who contribute for free, Wolfgang seems to me an open person and highly qualified as a smsq/e librarian.
On the other side, if we want to prove the license is wrong, I hope soon someone will submit something relevant (for q60) to him to see what happen.
Conclusion : hoping no one will be upset, the only thing I would like to see is "enhancement" whatever they come.
